Talking, singing, and playing peek-a-boo are good ways to stimulate a baby’s brain, but the toys babies have as they grow are essential components of eventual healthy brain development. Basically, babies learn by playing. Differently textured toys for the baby to touch are beneficial, and toys that make noise encourage the baby to learn how to control her hearing. The baby’s ability to focus vision is aided by picture books or toys composed of bold patterns in bright colors or black and white, and mobiles hung twelve to eighteen inches above a baby will keep her contented and help her learn to see. Of course, teething toys are a must-have and can be a great comfort to both parents and baby.
Most, of not all, baby gift baskets contain at least one toy. Whether baby is splashing in the tub, cutting a tooth, or just relaxing with a cuddly stuffed friend, seeing a baby you love occupied with toys may be some of the most fun you’ll have together.

Let’s face it—there’s not a bad time to send or receive a gift basket. They’re fun to give and receive. Gift baskets are of the few one-size-fits-all gifts I can think of, meaning they never have to be returned to the store. They contain so many little treats that make sharing easy, because there is usually something for everyone. Gift baskets are one of those rare group gifts appropriate for either a business or a family—I know I am always happy to be at work around Christmas and see corporate gift baskets arrive. Treats are a welcome sight on the doorstep no matter what time of year!
